Fla. CB thinking summer visit to Iowa State

The Cyclone coaching staff was unable to get a Florida junior defensive back on campus during the spring, so they're trying to land him during the summer months instead.

Wesley Chapel Wiregrass junior Shamaur McDowell has one Power-5 offer from Iowa State – to go along with several in the G5 ranks like Marshall, Cincinnati, USF, UCF, Central Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, Appalachian State, Bowling Green and Toledo.

In addition to being his lone P5 offer, McDowell said the Cyclones have remained at the top because of the how they’ve recruited him.

McDowell has been recruited by a pair of I-State assistants, Tyson Veidt and D.K. McDonald.

For more on McDowell's recruitment and how the Cyclones up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
