Fla. CB says Cyclones top list

Iowa State has made recruiting a Florida prep cornerback a priority after getting a good look at the Class of 2017 recruit during spring evaluations.

Delray Beach Atlantic's Datrone Young said he’s hearing positive things from Cyclone assistant coaches D.K. McDonald and Bryan Gasser, who were on campus during the previous evaluation period.

Young is one of three Atlantic juniors with offers from I-State. Defensive back Marquis Waters and wide receiver Corey Gammage also have collected an ISU offer in recent months.

The 5-foot-10, 168-pound Young also has Power-5 offers from Rutgers and Wisconsin.

For more on Young's recruitment and how ISU stacks up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
