Early offer QB keeping tabs on Cyclones

Shortly before he took an unofficial visit to Iowa State last summer, a Class of 2018 dual-threat quarterback from the state of Missouri picked up his first offer of the recruiting process from the Cyclones. Now he's looking into another trip to Ames in the coming weeks.

Maryland Heights Pattonville junior Kaleb Eleby was the prospect that picked up the offer and said he’s maintained a steady relationship with the coaching staff ever since.

Since picking up his first offer from the Cyclones, the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Eleby has added offers from Illinois, Illinois State, Northern Iowa and Southern Illinois. He’s also hearing from Minnesota, Louisville, Kentucky and Missouri.

Rivals has given the three-star dual threat quarterback a 5.7 rating and he is seventh-ranked prospect overall in Missouri and 13th at his position nationally in the 2018 class.

For more on Eleby's recruitment and how the Cyclones up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
