Early I-State target piling offers

One of the biggest in-state recruits on the Cyclones' radar for the Class of 2018 said he plans to be on campus later this month for a basketball game and to meet with the coaching staff.

West Des Moines Dowling Catholic junior John Waggoner said the theme of his recruitment from Iowa State thus far is just how big of a key he is to the staff’s 2018 efforts.

Waggoner says he has taken notice of the Cyclones’ progress as a program, not only as one of their recruits but as the former teammate of linebacker Jake Hummel who just signed last week as a member of the 2017 class.

In addition to his offers from I-State and Iowa, Waggoner added ones from Michigan and Minnesota on Wednesday.

For more on Waggoner's recruitment and how the Cyclones up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
