Duggan tunes in for big Iowa State victory
Although he missed a few games in the middle of his junior season with a broken thumb in his throwing hand, an in-state quarterback in the Class of 2019 has continued to show why a number of Power-5 programs from around the country are recruiting him.
Council Bluffs Lewis Central junior Max Duggan suffered the injury in the second game of the season, but has returned and played well the past two weeks. He’s put the Titans in position for a third-consecutive state playoff appearance.
Duggan has put up solid numbers in his third season as a starter, completing 26-of-44 passes for 449 yards and five touchdowns to no interceptions. He’s also rushed 49 times for 272 yards and five more scores.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound three-star quarterback certainly took notice last weekend when the Cyclones pulled off an upset of third-ranked Oklahoma, saying it demonstrates the program is turning with Campbell at the helm.
In addition to ISU, Duggan also claims Power-5 offers from Georgia, Iowa, Kansas State, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Nebraska, North Carolina, Northwestern and Penn State.
