Downing all set for Iowa State visit

Now that the 2017 recruiting class in its rear-view mirror, Iowa State has turned its focus on 2018 and a series of Junior Days that will transpire in conjunction with Saturday home football games. One of the staff's top in-state offensive linemen will be on campus this weekend for the first of those.

Creston big man Trevor Downing, who currently has four Power-5 offers, will be on Iowa State’s campus tomorrow and said he looks forward to renewing acquaintances with head coach Matt Campbell and offensive line coach and coordinator Tom Manning.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Downing has felt the love from ISU for several months, and said three different coaches were in Creston last month for one of his basketball games.

Since picking up his ISU offer last summer, Downing has added P5 offers from Iowa, Missouri and Minnesota.
