Cyclones still tops with Ramos

Perhaps the highest-ranked offensive lineman on Iowa State's board is a punishing big man from the desert southwest. The three-star prospect took an unofficial visit to Ames over the weekend.

Glendale (Ariz.) Deer Valley rising senior Joey Ramos made the trip to Ames along with fellow offensive line teammates Brandon McCrea and Xavier Delgado-Robinson, who are both looking for Cyclone offers. The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Ramos, who has had an offer for several months, said ISU took another step in the right direction.

The third-ranked overall prospect in Arizona and 25th offensive guard nationally for 2018, Ramos said he also enjoyed his extended conversation with head coach Matt Campbell in which the two leveled with each other about the recruiting process.

In addition to ISU, Ramos has Power-5 offers from the likes of Arizona, Arizona State, California, Kansas State, Nebraska, Oregon, UCLA, Utah, Washington and Washington State.
