Cyclones stay in touch with junior lineman

The first to offer a scholarship during an offensive lineman's sophomore year, Iowa State has remained in contact with a Class of 2019 recruit.

Since the Cyclones handed him one last November, Trinity Catholic’s Ira Henry has gone on to add Power-5 offers from Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Missouri and Syracuse. The three-star prospect said he’s still hearing from the Cyclones occasionally.

The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Henry said the turnaround in the Cyclones’ second season under Matt Campbell has certainly caught his eye.

Henry was unable to make a game-day visit this season, and says his last time in Ames was last winter when he traveled with several teammates. He says it’s possible he could be back for a Junior Day in the coming months.

For more on Henry's recruitment and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
