Cyclones solidly in mix for Ariz. OL

Iowa State is in prime position to land an official visit once an offensive lineman wraps up his senior season, which would be music to the ears of a coaching staff that has made him a focal point in their 2018 recruiting efforts.

Glendale Deer Valley’s Joey Ramos opted to focus on his senior year and put off taking official visits until after the season. But that doesn’t mean he hasn’t remained in close contact with members of the Cyclones’ staff.

In addition to the three likely to get visits, Ramos also had Oregon, UCLA and Washington in the top-six he released prior to the season. Prior to releasing his list, Ramos was also considering California, Kansas State, Nebraska, Utah and Washington State.

Perhaps the best thing for ISU’s chances of landing Ramos in the Class of 2018 is to show improvement during head coach Matt Campbell’s second season. The Cyclones have shown just that, says Ramos.
