Cyclones sit well with OL Downing

Sunday was a busy day for the Iowa State coaching staff. Not only was there a Cyclone Gridiron Club event being held at Jack Trice Stadium, but also several recruits were on hand for the preseason scrimmage.

One of those prospects on hand was Creston (Iowa) rising junior Trevor Downing, who said he enjoyed the practice experience and visit with Iowa State's head coach.

Although he was speaking with Campbell during the offensive line meeting, the 6-foot-4, 270-pound lineman said he liked what he saw from position coach and coordinator Tom Manning.

It's still early in the recruiting process for Downing, but the offensive lineman says the Cyclones are in great position.
