Cyclones prioritize long, tall WR

One of the top prospects in the Lone Star State for the 2018 recruiting class received a visit from two Cyclone assistant coaches yesterday, and says the program is one of the top options on his list.

Friendswood (Texas) Clear Brook junior wide receiver Caleb Chapman, who is ranked as the 86th player in Texas and 83rd at his position nationally, says the Cyclones will be one of his top schools when decision time comes.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pound Chapman also has Power-5 offers from Duke, Indiana, Oregon State and West Virginia. He said the Cyclones have been in touch with him frequently, and that coaches Bryan Gasser and Lou Ayeni were on campus Monday.

From what he saw of I-State last season, Chapman said he’s convinced he could play a big role in the offense if he ends up in Ames.
