Cyclones offer Texas ATH on offense

Iowa State is mining the high school ranks in the state of Texas for its next candidate to fill the slot receiver spot for its recruiting class of 2018. One candidate has multiple Power-5 offers and received an offer earlier this month.

Converse (Texas) Judson senior Julon Williams, who is his team’s starting quarterback, appears headed to the slot receiver position at the next level. He says Iowa State has offered him at that spot.

ISU head coach Matt Campbell and offensive coordinator Tom Manning have taken the reins on Williams’ recruitment and gave him the news of the offer earlier this month.

A three-star recruit with a 5.5 Rivals rating, Williams also has P5 offers from Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU and Virginia. He’s starting to look at where he wants to travel to this fall, but has nothing scheduled at this point.

For more on Williams' recruitment and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
