Cyclones offer Hawaiian RB

One of Iowa State's top recruiting assistant coaches liked what he saw of a junior running back from Hawaii and decided to extend a scholarship offer last month.

Honolulu Punahou Class of 2019 prospect Sitiveni Kaufusi said he picked up the offer from assistant coach Alex Golesh, who came across the film online and got in touch with the talented rusher. He also has an offer from in-state school Hawaii.

The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Kaufusi, who has helped lead his team to a 5-1 start to the season, said he doesn’t know much about the Cyclones yet but likes how they play at a high level.

In addition to his offer list of two schools, Kaufusi said he’s hearing from UCLA, Washington and Oregon.
