Cyclones lead the way with CB Thompson

An unofficial visit last month has vaulted the Cyclones into the lead for a Chicago (Ill.) prep defensive back with six current offers.

Chicago Phillips junior Joseph Thompson said the trip was so good that it was difficult to head home from Ames when he was in town on February 24th.

The versatility shown by the 5-foot-10, 160-pound Thompson has made him a top target for the Cyclones in the 2019 class.

In addition to I-State, Thompson has a Power-5 offer from Illinois to go with G5 programs Northern Illinois, Southern Miss, Toledo and Western Michigan. The prospect says he would like to decide on a school in the coming months, and says the Cyclones are serious contenders.
