Cyclones battling for Illinois DT

After offering the recruit a couple months ago, Iowa State is now looking for an unofficial visit from an Illinois high school recruit that also has an offer from Iowa.

Oswego Class of 2018 prospect Noah Shannon said he’s already well aware of how intense the competition is between the schools.

The 6-foot-2, 285-pound Shannon said he’s been in touch the most with Cyclone assistant coaches Alex Golesh and Lou Ayeni, and the duo has been trying to get him lined up for an unofficial visit.

In addition to I-State and Iowa, Shannon also has Power-5 offers from Minnesota and Rutgers, to go along with G5 programs Central Michigan and Northern Illinois.

For more on Shannon's recruitment and how the Cyclones up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
