Cyclones are No. 1 for QB Mitchell

Very high on the Cyclones' quarterback wish list for the Class of 2018 is a California native that helped lead his team to new heights this past season. The junior prospect was on campus over the weekend seeing Iowa State for the first time.

Bellfower St. John Bosco standout Re-Al Mitchell spent some quality time with the Cyclones’ coaches over the weekend and came away impressed with the experience.

A a three-star quarterback with a Rivals rating of 5.6 and top-55 ranking in the state of California, Mitchell helped lead his team to CIF Southern Section Division 1 and CIF State Open Division championships, as well as a number-two ranking nationally. He has picked up Power-5 offers from the likes of Arizona, Northwestern, Rutgers, South Carolina and Utah.

Following up on his visit, Mitchell announced just that on his Twitter page, putting the Cyclones in front in a top-five that includes South Carolina, UConn, Rutgers and Central Florida. He also posted a commitment date of May 1st.
