The Iowa State softball team dominated Texas Tech, winning 10-2 Sunday afternoon at the Rock. The Cyclones earned a sweep of the Red Raiders, as they registered a 5-2 victory on Saturday. Adi Blackmon, Julia Lindsey and Erica Martinez powered ISU's offense in Sunday's victory, all three notched at least two hits on the day. Lindsey was the top performer, finishing the contest 3-of-4 at the plate with one RBI. The win improved Iowa State's overall record to 11-8 and its conference mark to 2-0.
Texas Tech falls to 10-24 overall this year and to 0-4 in Big 12 action. ISU did its most of its damage in the fifth and sixth innings, as 17 hitters came up to bat in that span, scoring eight runs on six hits. Rainey Eanes led off the fifth with a single. Lindsey followed with a single of her own and then a double by Martinez drove in Eanes to push the lead to 3-0.

With runners on second and third, Lindsey Herrin reached on a fielder's choice and advanced to second when catcher Katie Ruby walked, loading the bases. Amberly Lessenger hit what would have been an inning ending grounder to first that rolled through the legs of Texas Tech's Carmen Grindell plating both Herrin and Ruby to make the score 7-0.
The Cyclones tacked on three more runs in the sixth and final inning as Blackmon recorded her second hit of the game and Lindsey tripled to right-center. A third consecutive hit in the inning by Martinez plated Lindsey. After a walk to Herrin and a putout third-to-first gave ISU two runners in scoring position, TTU's Brittney Stolle misplayed a grounder allowing Martinez to score and take a 10-0 lead into the bottom of the inning.
Texas Tech ended Jen Bice's run at her first shutout of the season, scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth. Bice got the win for the Cyclones, her sixth of the season, after working 5 1/3 innings. She improves to 6-4 overall this year. Bice held TTU to just one run scored on five hits. She struckout nine and didn't issue a walk.
The Cyclones will be at home at the Southwest Athletic Complex for the next four games. On Wednesday, ISU hosts Missouri in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. and then face-off against Texas A&M over the weekend.
