Commitment 360: Elgin Cook to ISU

Milwaukee (Wisc.) Hamilton small forward Elgin Cook has committed to Iowa State. CycloneReport.com spoke directly with Cook on Saturday evening to get the scoop as he traveled home following a two-day unofficial visit to ISU.
"I decided to be a commitment to Iowa State," the 6-foot-5, 180-pound Cook said. "I like the team, I like the facilities, the coaches are good. There is great fan support there. I visited yesterday and today (Friday and Saturday) and made my commitment while I was there."

Iowa State was Cook's first offer and it came in early July following his appearance at an ISU camp in June. Cook was back on campus this weekend and got to see more of the future of the Cyclones hoops program before deciding to become a part of it.
"The new practice facility is almost done and I got to see that," said Cook. "And I got to hang with the players a lot more. Getting to know them more helped me make my decision. And that facility is great."
Also recruiting Cook with serious interest this summer have been Oregon, Purdue, Providence, Wisconsin, Colorado and Marquette.
Cook said he plans to sign with Iowa State in the early signing period in November 2010. He said his future position with the Cyclones will depend on his development as a player between now and then.
"They said I could be a 2 or a 3 or a 2/3," Cook explained. "It depends what I do between now and then, how I develop as a player."
Cook is ranked as the no. 123 prospect in the Rivals150 for 2011. He's the no. 26 small forward in the country, according to Rivals.com.
