Chi-Town WR experiences I-State

One of several recruits on hand with multiple FBS-level offers over the weekend - a Chicago wide receiver - came away impressed with what he saw of the Iowa State program.

Brother Rice three-star pass catcher Ricky Smalling said he enjoyed his time with the coaching staff while watching a spring scrimmage.

The 6-foot-1, 189-pound junior said the Cyclone coaches really sold him on his potential in Tom Manning’s new system in Ames.

Smalling, who also has Power-5 offers from Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Virginia and Wisconsin, racked up 1,165 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior.
