A scholarship offer from Iowa State has made quite an impression on a Class of 2020 wide receiver from a Chicagoland high school.

Chicago Marist sophomore Jadon Thompson said the Cyclones’ offer from head coach Matt Campbell on January 24th came from out of the blue.

It’s been a rapid start to the 6-foot-2,155-pound Thompson’s recruitment, as he’s assembled Power-5 offers from the likes of ISU, Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota.

Thompson, who is coming off a sophomore season in which he posted 49 catches for 854 yards and nine touchdowns, said he’s looking at what would be a second visit to I-State in the coming months.

For more on Thompson's recruitment and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
