Cali corner set for Iowa State official visit

Iowa State has already secured a commitment from quarterback Re-Al Mitchell, and this weekend will host one of the defensive backs that will be tasked with stopping him later on this season.

West Hills Chaminade senior Dallas Taylor-Cortez will be in the first group of official visitors the Cyclones will host for the 2017 season.

Taylor-Cortez will face off with Mitchell in less than two weeks when his Chaminade team plays Mitchell and Bellflower St. John Bosco. Taylor-Cortez said he’s heard some positive things from Mitchell.

A foursome of schools currently stands out the most to Taylor-Cortez, at least in the degree to which they’re recruiting him. Overall, he has Power-5 offers from the likes of I-State, Arizona, Oregon State, Utah and Washington State.

For more on Taylor-Cortez's recruitment and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
