Arizona 3-star set to visit I-State

A contact in the business helped steer Iowa State offensive coordinator and line coach onto a Class of 2018 prospect from the state of Arizona who will be on campus in two weeks for the Texas Tech game.

Glendale (Ariz.) Deer Valley junior Joey Ramos said his work at the camp of a former NFL offensive lineman helped put him on Iowa State’s radar.

The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Ramos, who picked up an offer from the Cyclones in early October, has remained in steady contact with Mowser in advance of his unofficial visit to Ames in a few weeks. The assistant wide receivers coach also shared with Ramos what the staff saw in its evaluation of him.

In addition to the one he received from ISU, Ramos has Power-5 offers from Nebraska and Utah. Fordham, Central Florida and South Alabama have also offered.

For more on Ramos' recruitment and how ISU stacks up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
