4-star RB eyes I-State return visit

Iowa State has already offered an Illinois junior running back and hosted the prospect during the summer for an unofficial visit. Now it appears the prospect could be making his way to Ames again next month.

Quincy (Ill.) Senior standout Jirehl Brock said he is talking to members of the Cyclone coaching staff on a consistent basis, and wants to take a game-day visit in September.

As with several prospects across the country, especially ones in the 2019 class, Brock has put his recruitment on the back burner with the start of his junior year. He presently has Power-5 offers from ISU, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State and Missouri.

Brock dealt with a slight setback in his team’s season opener when he suffered a partial separation of the AC joint in his shoulder in third quarter. He had rushed for 80 yards prior to the injury and will likely be out a week or two.

For more on Brock's recruitment and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
