4-star hits Iowa State for official visit

One of the top overall Class of 2018 prospects from the Lone Star State was on hand over the weekend for his first official visit of the process.

Cypress Springs (Texas) standout Taye Barber visited Ames prior to making his original commitment to TCU in late July, but his second experience at ISU could have opened the door for Matt Campbell and his staff.

Barber is the 41st-ranked overall player in the Lone Star State for the 2018 class and 19th-best athlete in the country. The four-star prospect has garnered a 5.8 Rivals rating.

At the time of his TCU commitment, he has Power-5 offers from Iowa State, Arizona, Arizona State, Clemson, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Ole Miss, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas Tech, Utah, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

For more on Barber's official visit and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
