4-star DE notes Iowa St. breakout year

A southern California defensive end has had an Iowa State offer for several months and said he's noticed the breakout 2017 season the program had.

Los Angeles Cathedral standout junior Stephon Wright said he heard from the Cyclones this fall and expects to catch up with position coach Eli Rasheed in the near future.

The 6-foot-4, 251-pound Wright is the 118th-ranked overall prospect and 12th strong-side defensive end nationally, as well as being ranked the 20th player in the state of California.

In addition to his I-State offer, Wright has P5 ones from Arizona State, Boston College, Colorado, Kansas, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Texas A&M, USC, Utah and Washington State.

For more on Wright's recruitment and how the Cyclones stack up at this stage of the process, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
