3-Star LB lines up Iowa St. visit

As Iowa State looks to wrap up its 2017 recruiting class next month, the coaching staff is set to host a senior three-star linebacker from the state of Michigan.

Muskegon standout senior Andrew Ward said he just scheduled an official visit for the weekend of January 13-15 and is looking forward to being back in Ames for the first time since he attended a Junior Day last winter.

Ward’s high school team just wrapped up its high school season last weekend in the Division III state championship game, where Muskegon lost to an Orchard Lake St. Mary’s that features Cyclone commit Richard Bowens III.

In addition to I-State, Ward also has Power-5 offers from the likes of Arizona, Nebraska, Penn State, Virginia Tech and Washington State. He said three programs in particular stand out at this point.
