2017 Ohio DE commits to Cyclones

Iowa State picked up its 20th commitment for the Class of 2017 on Sunday afternoon when a senior defensive end from the state of Ohio announced his intentions in head coach Matt Campbell's office.

King Mills (Ohio) Kings senior Dan Sichterman was one of seven known unofficial visitors on campus over the weekend, and his trip lasted a couple of days. At the end of it was an offer, and later, a commitment. The 6-foot-3, 235-pound defensive end recapped his exciting weekend at ISU.

In addition to ISU and Ball State, Sichterman also had offers from Air Force, UConn and others in the FCS ranks.

Following up on his unofficial visit to I-State, Sichterman said he anticipates being back on campus around the first of the year along with several other members of the 2017 class.

For more on Sichterman's commitment and what he specifically liked about his weekend visit, check out a more-detailed story on the ISU Confidential message board.
