2017 Cali DT commits to Iowa State

Although he took an unofficial visit to Iowa State several weeks ago, committing to the coaching staff was always on the mind of a California prep defensive lineman.

Simi Valley Grace Brethren’s Tucker Robertson announced his commitment to the Cyclones via social media on Thursday afternoon, after having some heart-to-heart conversations with his future position coach and the leader of the program Matt Campbell.

The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Robertson said all of his recent conversations only reaffirmed what he already believed, that Iowa State was the place for him. He’ll return to Ames yet again next weekend when he takes his official visit along with many of the Cyclones’ commits for the Class of 2017.

Robertson is the 21st known commitment for 2017 and the eighth targeted to play on the defensive line. He joins Kamilo Tongamoa and Ray Lima as defensive tackle additions.
