McKay finally makes ISU his choice
Jameel McKay had a chance to commit to Iowa State and join the Cyclones' program coming out of Indian Hills Community College.
Instead, the rangy 6-foot-8 combo forward from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, committed to his hometown university - Marquette - and enrolled there this past fall. But McKay left the Marquette basketball program without ever playing in a game.
Iowa State had been one of the finalists for McKay before he committed to Marquette in June of 2012. Illinois, Indiana, Memphis, Missouri and Arkansas were other schools that offered McKay before he chose to sign with Marquette.
At Iowa State, McKay will be reunited with Indian Hills teammate Dustin Hogue, who is early in his first season with the Cyclones.
McKay will transfer from Marquette to ISU at the semester and he'll have 1 1/2 seasons of eligibility with the Cyclones. McKay will be able to play the second half of the 2014-15 season and the entire 2015-16 campaign.
