49ers take Bykowski in 7th round

Iowa State offensive tackle Carter Bykowski was selected by the San Francisco 49ers Saturday in the NFL Draft.

Bykowski was the 40th player chosen in the seventh round and the 246th pick overall in the draft. The Eden Prairie, Minn. native originally played tight end at ISU but then switched to tackle. He started 18 games at that position for the Cyclones.

Earlier in the day Saturday, Iowa State's A.J. Klein was drafted by the Carolina Panthers. It's the first time since 2008 that ISU had two players chosen in the same draft.
