Brooks garnering interest from top schools

Miller Grove forward Henry Brooks could be one of the top basketball players in the state of Georgia for the class of 2011. Several teams are hot on his trail including the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Two of Brooks' former teammates Stephen Hill and Mfon Udofia enrolled at Georgia Tech this summer. Jacketsonline caught up with the soft-spoken forward to see how his summer went and what schools are actively pursuing him.

Who has been recruiting you the hardest?

"Georgetown, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Xavier, Ohio State and West Virginia have been recruiting me the most."

What schools have offered you a scholarship?

"Xavier, Maryland and Georgetown have offered."

Are there other schools sending you mail?

"LSU and Wake Forest are sending me mail."

What do you think about Georgia Tech?

"I like it and I was up there last weekend and I went to the football game. I like the coaches there and the players. It is a good situation."

Where do the Jackets stand in your list?

"They are in my top five. I have not made the list specifically, but they are in it. I don't have a leader yet."

Do you have a timetable for narrowing your list?

"Not yet, I should start to figure that out in the next few months."

How did the AAU ball go this summer?

"It went really well."

What type of player are you?

"I am a hard worker. I see myself playing the three in college. I am playing that some now."
