One of the nation's top quarterback prospects spent the last 48 hours in Columbus checking out the Ohio State campus in Wichita Falls (Tex.) Rider product J.T. Barrett. The 6-foot-1, 209-pound four-star prospect arrived back in Texas on Tuesday evening after a fast paced visit to Columbus. The outstanding dual-threat prospect enjoyed his first experience at Ohio State.

"It was good, I enjoyed myself," said Barrett. "It was nice to actually see what everybody was talking about with the tradition and the people and the excellence. I saw some good things."

While on campus, Barrett got the full tour, from the football facilities to the academic buildings.

"We saw it all," he said. "From the library, to the Fisher College of Business. I saw the weight room, the stadium; I pretty much saw it all."

Barrett's main recruiter from Ohio State throughout the process has been quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator Tom Herman. Barrett enjoyed the time he spent with Herman and the rest of the staff.

"I was with coach Herman quite a bit, also coach (Greg) Gillum and then also coach (Urban) Meyer," he said. "It was good. (Coach Herman) and I have a good relationship and our relationship grew (on the visit)."

As for his favorite part of the trip, there were two things that really stood out to the future Elite 11 quarterback.

"The coolest thing I saw would probably be the stadium," he said. "The stadium was crazy. Other than that it would be the library. I've never seen a library that was 11 stories. You go to the top of the library and you can see the whole campus, it was beautiful."

Moving forward, Barrett said that he sees himself closing in on a decision in the not too distant future but will continue to do his homework on the schools that have offered him.

"I'm going to do some more research about all of the schools," he said. "After that I'm going to pray about it and see what God tells me to do and from there I should be able to make a decision. If I feel the need to visit one or two more schools I'll do that but right now I'm just going to start praying about it and see what we get."

Barrett is rated the No. 134 player in the nation by Rivals.com.
