September 23, 2013Junior center Tom Farniok will return to the starting line-up for Iowa State's game at Tulsa on Thursday.
Head coach Paul Rhoads said Sunday night that he had inserted Farniok back on the top line at center and Monday morning's release of ISU's depth chart confirmed that. Farniok was injured with a knee sprain in the season opener against Northern Iowa and did not play in the Iowa game.
Jamison Lalk, who started at guard in the season opener and then started at center in Farniok's place in the Iowa game, will not play at Tulsa after sustaining a similar knee sprain injury against the Hawkeyes.
Monday's new depth chart also revealed two new starters on paper for the Cyclone offense. E.J. Bibbs has been elevated to no. 1 tight end with Ernst Brun and Ben Boesen sharing the no. 2 line. Brun was previously listed as the starter. Bibbs leads the ISU tight ends in receiving through two games, although he has only caught four passes for 13 yards. Brun has two receptions for six yards and Boesen has one catch for five yards.
Also, Brock Dagel is listed as the no. 1 strong tackle for the Tulsa game, flipping spots with Kyle Lichtenberg at that position.
