May 2, 2012 Paul Clark CycloneReport.com Publisher Talk about it in ISU Confidential 2.0 Ruempolhamer gets Jets tryout Former Iowa State defensive tackle Stephen Ruempolhamer will get his NFL shot with the New York Jets, the team announced Tuesday. Ruempolhamer is one of 23 players invited for a tryout at the Jets' rookie mini-camp coming up this weekend. Ruempolhamer is a 6-foot-3, 300-pound native of Holland who attended high school in Oklahoma before coming to ISU. Uthoff's ISU visit is this weekend Wisconsin transfer and Cedar Rapids native Jarrod Uthoff is still slated to visit Iowa State this coming weekend. Uthoff, a 6-foot-9 forward, has already visited Creighton. After making a decision on his new school, Uthoff will have to sit out the 2012-13 season as a transfer after also sitting out 2011-12 at Wisconsin as a redshirt. He'll have three seasons of competition eligibility remaining starting with the 2013-14 season. Rutter a finalist for UM-D job Jeff Rutter, Iowa State's director of men's basketball operations, is one of three finalists for the head coaching job at Division II Minnesota-Duluth, the school has announced. Rutter has been at ISU since 2006 as an original member of Greg McDermott's first coaching staff in Ames. He latest transitioned into the top administrative position in the program. Rutter coached with McDermott at UNI as well and is a former head coach at Wisconsin-Parkside. Former Cyclone Bolte hired at Drake New Drake women's basketball coach Jennie (Lillis) Barancyk has hired former Iowa State standout Kelsey Bolte as the Bulldogs' coordinator of basketball operations. Bolte finished her Cyclone career in 2011 as ISU's 6th all-time leading scorer. In other Iowa State women's basketball news, head coach Bill Fennelly said Tuesday that former I-K-M Manning and DMACC player Ashley Hagedorn will walk on for the Cyclones next season. And former ISU assistant coach Jack Easley has joined the staff at Oklahoma State.
