Rebels in line for visit from Texas DT
The offers continue to roll in for Aaron Curry, though his timetable for a decision remains the same.
The 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive tackle from Keller (Fossil Ridge), Texas, plans to choose his college home as early as late August, meaning his upcoming series of unofficial visits will play a huge role in his decision.
Curry, who moved to Texas from Norman, Okla., said he plans to visit Purdue, Iowa, Missouri and Ole Miss in the coming weeks. The Rebels, Curry said, extended an offer last week.
"They said I'd fit in really good with their program," Curry said. "They said they like how I run to the football and get to the ball. They said they like my motor."
Curry said since receiving the offer from Ole Miss, he's gotten on the Internet and researched the school and the Rebels' program and facility. Curry said he wants to see how well he gets along with the coaches and the players at the schools he is considering as well as find a school with a strong business management program.
"Academics will play a big role in my decision," Curry said.
Curry said Missouri, Ole Miss, Purdue, Boise State, Baylor, Boston College and Iowa are the schools at the top of his list. All of those schools, Curry said, are recruiting him as "an inside guy who can rush the passer."
Curry, a three-star prospect ranked by Rivals.com as the nation's No. 43 defensive tackle, recorded 68 tackles and four quarterback sacks as a junior.
