Kearney dominates Brundidge
ROMULUS, Mich. - Michigan State signee Brandan Kearney put on a show at the expense of Michigan signee Carlton Brundidge in a 73-56 Detroit Southeastern rout of Southfield in battle of two teams ranked Top 10 in Class A on a neutral court at Romulus.
Kearney led No. 5 ranked Southeastern with with 24 points. He added nine assists, five rebounds and a blocked shot. Future Dayton Flyer Percy Gibson added 20 points in the win which moves Southeastern to 3-0 on the season.
"I told you, he is the best in the state," said Southeastern coach George Ward of Kearney. "I have the best two guys in the state. We did a great job as team. I love what we did today, we executed collectively."
Brundidge scored just 12 points against a long and athletic Southeastern defense. The Michigan signee hit his first two shots for the No. 8 ranked Bluejays before cooling down. Kearney, who did not score a point in the first quarter, was unstoppable thereafter.
